Our new house.

This was last winter, before it was ours. It's not going to look like this for long.

The old front sidewalk is sticking up from the roots of a lareg tree that was removed. The stump from the tree is still there. This also will be removed soon. We are probably going to remove most of the overgrown plants in the front yard and the dead ones from the side yard.

...the dining room, after.

The floors have been done throughout the house. We painted the ceiling and walls. We also replaced the ceiling light.

I decided to look under the paint on the baseboards because we had a feeling the original wood was lurking. We were right! Now we have to decide if we want to spend the time restoring all the original wood.

Deb wants to paint the door and window trim white and strip the basebaords. I want to strip it all! We'll see what happens.

The downstairs bathroom

We can't forget the downstairs bathroom. Currently the only working bathroom in the house!

The beginning

This is how the kitchen started out. We started demo on March 3 and it took about 5 days to completely gut the kitchen.

My brother, Duane, played a big role in getting the job done.
